Navis - mechanic shipsclock medium size
In times of satellite navigation mechanic chronometers are not longer needed at sea. But where has the nautic atmosphere gone? In many cabins of exclusive yachts only digital display of time can be found. But actually a mechanic clock belongs to the basic equipment as well as sea-charts and navigation tools.
With the ship clock Navis you can bring back some nautic flair on your boat.
Nostalgic ticking combined with up to date technology are characteristic for the caliber 2008. The case is made of solid bronce and nickel-plated. All screwed caseparts are sealed with o-rings and protect the milled wheels, hardened pinions and 12 ball bearings from moisture.
The precisely manufactured Sattler-movement is equipped with a stop work. This feature cuts out the strong torque at the beginning and the weak torque at the end of an expanding mainspring.
In the remaining 8 days power reserve the Navis shows a very good accuracy. To wind the clock with a key, only the bezel has to be opened with a bayonet catch.
The handmade and blued hands are protected by antireflection mineral glass. An opening in the dial makes the screw balance of the swiss lever escapement visible. Optional an engraving plate can be fitted on the dial.

Navis 24
The Navis 24 is different from the Navis by two additional functions:
First the Navis 24 has a second time zone. This complication is for nautic purposes very useful because it enables the seaman to set the 24 hour hand according to UTC (Universal Time Coordination). For the use at land a second time zone can be selected. Only the 24hour hand has to be set to the desired indication. The day phase is highlined by the red segment and the night-phase by the black segment of the 24 hour scale.
The second extra function of the Sattler Caliber 2008-24 is the date indication.
The case of Navis and Navis 24 are identical.
